"The business started right after college, which was over 10 years ago. My sorority was new to campus and I started out selling greek jewelry because there wasn't anyone in town selling gift items and jewelry with our sorority and they needed drop letter for initiation. It then evolved into greek and monogrammed jewelry. We (my mom and I) then started hosting an annual trunk show in late fall for early Christmas shopping. We promoted our monogram lines and also costume jewelry. When I went back to school to work on my masters degree I went to work part-time in an upscale gift and furniture store where I worked in the gift department and also worked as a bridal consultant. This was an amazing opportunity to really learn about retail sales and the in's and out's of the gift business. After leaving the store to have my son three years ago I realized how much I missed the gift business and Snappy Casual Gifts online store was born. It was a way for me to still interact with customers and sell beautiful gifts.
I enjoy the flexibility of the business being online because I can work on changes with the store at any hour of the day.
I just recently went back to teaching and also work several hours a week at my husband's office so being online is a perfect fit for my busy life."
