Meet The Teacher - Teacher Gifts!

As school starts again I have mixed emotions of not wanting the Summer to end but also wanting these kids OUT OF MY HOUSE. HA!!!!!

Might as well start the year off RIGHT with a MEET THE TEACHER GIFT.

I have a bunch I found that are just too cute. Which one should I do!?

1) Thank You Planter-

How cute is this from My Happy Place?
Chalk paint, a plant and a ribbon DONE!

2) Crayon Name Picture!

This is too cute but more advanced for sure from Melissas Bargains.

3) This Survival Kit is adorable.

Clean and Sensible has it as a Valentines Day gift but I think it's great for a meet your teacher gift too.

4) Pencil Bouquet= AKA sheer brilliance from Less Cake More Frosting!

What do you think? Which one should I do? You should see what my bestie did! How great is this??? It's a door hanger!

The Best Graduation Gifts- I love the sentimental ones!!

Hi!

This year Landon will be graduating 1st grade and Coco will be graduating Pre K and going to Kindergarten in the fall. While I am not ready for big graduation gifts, I am starting to think of the sentimental things I can do NOW that will have a big pay off when they graduate high school!

One of the things you can start ANY TIME at ANY AGE is:

1) Oh The Places You'll Go- By Dr. Seuss:

Have your childs teacher sign this book every year and then give it to them at graduation. Coco and Landon's books started in Pre K so they will be FULL! This is an inexpensive and oh so meaningful gift! One of my favorites and I try to tell everyone about it!

2) I have also seen: The Letters:

Write a letter to your child each year at the same time (you can even add a little money each time) and then when they turn 18 they have a great graduation gift!

3) Story People Print:

My Mom had given me some of these, but now there are even better more sentimental art pieces you can buy from story people. I like the prints best. This one is amazing.

Love this one too:

3. Memory Books-

I am the queen of the snapfish photo book and now that I am adding quotes like this I am the tear jerking queen!

I love doing a book of photos and story so they can see their whole year and how much they've grown.

I also love giving this book:

4) Just Who Will You Be- By Maria Shriver

The Mr said it was the best Father's Day he ever had!

The kids and I started by serving him breakfast in bed. Then we started with the gifts! Coco gave her Daddy a fabulous pineapple slicer and corer from William Sonoma! He was eternally happy because he is Mr. Mai Tai!

Landon gave Daddy a James Bond Dvd set! He was thrilled!

I gave The Mr this fabulous Pizza making book called My Pizza.

And of course a Pizza stone from Williams Sonoma to cook pizza with!

After that we met our dear friends for brunch at The Langham Hotel in Pasadena. It was heaven! Scotch tasting, cigar bar, sushi bar, jazz band and champagne!

Fun Things To Do With The Kids- Book Signing with Sarah Maizes!

Landon and Coco went to their first book signing at Chevaliers Book Shop! We were greeted by the author, and my pal,  Sarah Maizes, who wrote the cutest book called "On My Way To The Bath".

This book literally chronicles our bath time routine. The little girl in the story desperately does anything she can to avoid taking a bath while her mother becomes more frustrated. Of course the kids thought it was hilarious!

She read the book and personally signed it to them. The kids were riveted while she was reading, and I was so happy for them to meet a real author! Landon has been learning a lot about literature and was very excited.

Sarah, who I just love, also has a great blog called Mommy Lite.

After the book signing we looked all around the book stores kid section. I just love to see their excitement for reading! You can buy "On My Way To The Bath" right here on Amazon!

Easter Recap! A Tale Of Two Dresses and Four Easter Egg Hunts!

This year we were invited to join friends at Descanso Gardens Easter Brunch. They have them Saturday and Sunday, so we went Saturday so that we could attend church on Sunday. I had never been before but it was amazing!
The gardens were gorgeous and the brunch was fabulous. The kids were excited to be with their friends. Landon loves his buddies.
Coco was thrilled to be with her bestie Sarah. She talked her ear off about Mickey Mouse.

The Easter Egg hunt was a blast. The kids were so excited (this was hunt #1). The next morning the Easter Bunny came and he did not disappoint! God mother had made a basket for Landon last year and so, for Coco not to be outdone...yes I made her a basket. I have the burnt glue gun fingers to prove it.

Here's Landon's.

Landon loved his Scooby Doo Leapfrog game and Coco loved her pink recorder. Slam dunk Easter Bunny! After another Easter Egg hunt in the back yard (#2) we went to church. Now those of you who know me know Easter is my Christmas. I adore it. Church was amazing. I loved every second. And yes there was another Easter Egg Hunt (#3!!)

Onto brunch at God mother's Moms house, we call her God Grandmother! Gorgeous house and fabulous brunch. And you guessed it another Easter Egg hunt! What a wonderful Easter.

It's The Little Things- 5 Things I Cannot Leave The House Without

FIVE Little Things

About a week ago, Muffy from the Muffy Martini tagged me to share five things I can't leave the house without. I thought long and hard about it, paying attention to my daily habits and finally have my five ready to share with you!

1) Iced Tea in a Tervis Tumbler

I hate hot beverages, I always burn my tongue. Instead I get my caffeine from my iced tea that I keep permanently cold in my Tervis Tumbler double insulated glass!

2) Blackberry Bold

Just got the newest Blackberry and it has changed my life. Yes, I look at it every two seconds, but now I am really on top of things!

3) Lip Gloss and Lipstick

I use it as blush, lip gloss and eyeshadow! I am not much for makeup, have really no clue what I am doing, but I manage to look pulled together with a little gloss, masacara and blush. I like Nars semi matte lipstick the best!

4) Jewelry

Whether it's a fabulous necklace or bangle I need a statement piece on to feel fabulous. I love costume jewelry because you can buy and buy!

Loved the earrings Kyle wore on RHOBH reunion show!

5) My wedding ring and watch

I feel naked and strange without them. And I love them!! My watch is Cartier's two tone womens watch. Goes with everything!

How about you? What Five things can you not leave the house without!?
