RIP Lilly Pulitzer- Anything Is Possible With Sunshine And A Little Pink

I was so sad to learn of Lilly Pulitzers passing. She was such an iconic figure and was able to accomplish so much. Lilly was one of my personal idols for many reasons but not for just her clothes, for the way she embraced life. Here are some of her greatest quotes and a little perspective from moi.

“Being happy never goes out of style.”

I learned a long time ago that whatever life throws at you, being happy is a choice. I have been through my share of tragedy and hard times. I have learned that life is hard. I am still cheerful and happy because that is what I choose. Being happy is like being a Love spreader. You make others happy. You have no idea how a kind word or funny moment can affect someone. It can turn their day around. Rose colored glasses are not a bad thing. They're pink!

“It's always summer somewhere.”

I grew up on the East Coast and absolutely hated the winter. I even hated the fall! Hated the leaves dying, falling off the trees, the whole thing really got to me. I was probably one of those people who needed to stare into a lightbox. Instead I turned up the heat to 80 degrees and slathered on Coppertone while listening to the Beach Boys every time my parents went out. Yes I got in trouble, but from this I learned that I had no other option then to go to college in Florida. Clearly I had my priorities straight.

“I was a gypsy, living a carefree life of ponies and tennis.”

Going to Rollins College in Winter Park Florida was a dream. I studied by the pool and handed in suntan oil stained papers to my Sociology teacher. I belonged to the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and made some of the best friends of my life. Life was so carefree then and I am so grateful to have had that experience! I was introduced to Lilly Pulitzer in college and fell in love instantly. I never looked back. Seeing sorority pictures like this continue to pop up just makes me so happy!

“Anything is possible with sunshine and a little pink.”

If it weren't for my can do attitude I have no idea where I would be. Certainly NOT in California, where I always dreamed of living, and certainly not having my own business. I have always been a girls girl. I treasure my time with girl friends and all things fabulous. My two business partners are women and I love that too. Supporting other women, mothers, girls is always something important to me. I am raising Coco with this in mind. Here we are in our matching Lilly.

Tell me your Lilly Pulitzer experiences. When did you buy your first Lilly? Learn about her? I will always have Lilly in my heart. And on my back!

Favorite Things Week! Summer Fun With Kids!

These kids are already having the best summer and we've only had a few weeks of it! Here are some things Landon and Coco are LOVING.

Tennis Camp

Landon is getting so much out of this. The coaches are wonderful and teaching him about sportsmanship and listening! He things he's super cool with all his pals!

The Beach

It may sound simple but the beach is the best game in town. The kids can scream their heads off, or be quiet and dig in the sand. Heaven.

Pottery Barn Kids Mini Beach Towels

I ordered these cute towels for Landon and Coco. Since they are "Mini" towels they are the perfect size!!! On sale now for $15!!

Country Club Dinners With Friends

Miss Coco Goes To The Paul Frank Party At The Beverly Hills Hotel!

That Coco, she really has a fabulous life.

Case and point. She was invited to the Paul Frank Party To Celebrate his clothing launch at Babies 'R' us!

We celebrated their ADORABLE new children’s collection at Babies ‘R’ Us that will hit stores this June. The event was decorated all with their new adorable Small Paul collection. Coco put on her Lilly Pulitzer shift and was ready to go!

When she first arrived she spotted a makeup chair and hopped right in there. She loved her "Butterfly eyes".

She spied "Julius" the Paul Frank monkey and we had to get a pic!

The setting in the courtyard of the Beverly Hills Hotel was gorgeous. Look at the umbrellas in the trees!

After some cookie decorating, dancing with Julius and delicious food Coco got her personalized Paul Frank backpack full of swag. It was time to go!

Coco and I spied Jillian Barberie, Elisabeth Rohm, Candice Cameron Bure (who was so gorgeous and sweet I adored her!!!) and Busy Phillips.

A great day!

Easter Outfits!

Happy Maundy Thursday!

I have my parents in town, so commemorate the last supper we will take the kids to Benihana. HA!

This Easter I have two brunches to attend. One with friends and family, and one with godparents and family. That means a color theme (yes I am horrifying). For Saturday brunch I am going with a coral and navy theme.

Loving this coral sheath dress I got at Bloomingdales. Adrianna Papell!

Then I have to get some of these Nine West Fauna wedges (but in Navy patent leather)!

Then on course Landon in this J Crew Blue Blazer:

Then some Ralph Lauren gingham blue oxfords on both Landon and Daddy.

Coco will be in a precious navy and white dress I found. There's only one problem. What to wear on Sunday!!!

Fabulous Things From Blooming Buds!!

I was having a terrible day.....that is until theses arrived!

Since Coco and I both had a birthday, we received some goodies!!! Hair clips, flip flops, head bands, could you just die? So cute! Coco has her Mommy and Me class today and I am going to put a big ol' flower on her head for sure!!

Follow Blooming Buds on Twitter here: BloomingBuds1 and her website and blog here: http://www.bloomingbuds.info/.

Love all that she is doing! Wouldn't the hair clips be a perfect party favor for a little girls birthday party?

Tory Burch Mothers Day Interview!

I could not be more thrilled or excited to interview Tory Burch. I love her clothes but did you know that she named her famous Reva shoes after her Mom? (pictured with Tory) Or that she has two adorable boys? Or that Tory has a kids line!!?? So may questions to ask! And she was gracious enough to take time to answer!

OFM: How do you continue to follow your passions and dreams while being a Mom?

TB: So many working mothers have had to find that right balance. It’s hard, but we all figure out what is best for our families and for ourselves. My boys and my stepdaughters keep me grounded and put things in perspective for me whenever I get stressed out because of work.

OFM: How has motherhood changed you?

TB: It changes everything about your life.  I am as happy as my kids are happy—if they’re doing well and happy, that’s what matters most to me. Professionally, it’s so much easier for me to prioritize now and to see what’s really important and what can wait until tomorrow—or next week.

OFM: What is the best Mom advice you've ever gotten?

TB: My mother always told me to believe in myself. She’s also an eternal optimist, and said that no matter how bad today might be, there is a new day a few hours away.

OFM: What are your top five Mommy must haves?

TB: Patience, a sense of humor, consistency, follow-through and endless amounts of love.

OFM: Finish this sentence: "Being......makes me One Fabulous Mom.

TB: Being Sawyer, Nick, Henry, Pookie, Izzie and Louisa’s mom makes me One Fabulous Mom.

OFM: Tell us about your foundation?

TB: I have been so fortunate myself, and I have always wanted to give back. The Tory Burch Foundation, with our partners Accion USA, gives women entrepreneurs—so many who are mothers—the financial support they need to achieve their dreams through microfinance. We’re already hearing success stories. We have worked with some amazing women who are changing their lives, their family’s and their local communities.

OFM: Where do you get design influences?

TB: My greatest influences are my parents. I am constantly inspired by photos of them traveling in the Sixties. My design team and I are always pulling ideas from our travels, music and art exhibits.

OFM:  How has your mom influenced you?

TB: My mother has always been my closest friend and confidant. She taught me to always be open to new people, places and ideas—something I try to pass on to my children. Style-wise, my mother has always been one of the most effortlessly chic, confident women I know.

Thank you Tory! Happy Mother's Day!

I would DIE to see Coco in a pink and green tunic!!!

Easter! The Most Wonderful Time!

We had a wonderful Easter. I love our church. We have a wonderful community and feel so blessed! We had quite the celebrity turn out. I made a promise that once I am friends with and/ or attending a group with a celeb, I will not blog about them out of respect for their privacy. Wish I could tell you who was there! They were dying over baby Coco!!!

After church we headed over to Godmothers, mothers house for the most fabulous Easter Brunch in the backyard! Coco looked like a little pink cupcake in her dress. Everyone was wanting to hold her!

We dined on ham, egg casserole, asparagus, smoked salmon and bagels, all while sipping Mimosas. There was a lot of Lilly Pulitzer and Tory Burch attire spotted in that backyard!

Landon looked so cute in his blue blazer and loved the egg hunt! Happy Easter indeed!

Ps I dressed Landon in his blue polo and before we left for church he said "I want pink!" That's my boy!

How about these Chanel-ish looing ones from Janie and Jack. I die.

Baby Fancy Pants! Rufflebutts!

Oh my goodness. When I had a daughter I knew two things. She would always wear pink (or pink and green) and she would wear "fancy pants" almost every day!

I just happened upon some cute websites to feed my addiction!

Rufflebutts have the cutest pants and fancy pants I have ever seen. I looove the red and so will Memoirs of the shoe obsessed!

I also looove monogram "fancy pants" to go under dresses. Yes, okay, they're called diaper covers but don't you like the words "fancy pants" waaaay better!??

Anyhoo, you can get adorable monogrammed fancy pants at
Baby Janes Boutique.

and don't despair Preppy Mama...

You can have these!!

Girl Party Week! It's all in the shoes.....

What was the first thing I bought for my baby girl?

These! They are By Paige, and adorable!!!

I know a girl needs shoes. Lots of them!!!! I figured I needed to start her shoe collection right away!

I also love these by Layla Grayce!

I wanted to order these too but I am holding off!

How about these little numbers? They are on SALE for $17 On the Janie and Jack website and I had to get them!

Like Mother like daughter, I am dying over these from J.Crew...

and these!

A special Happy Birthday to hubby today! Thanks for giving me a girl!!!

BINGO! Marshalls, too fabulous for words

The world was a nice place yesterday. People weren't driving like maniacs, they let me into their lanes, and the valet guy at my favorite restaurant Le Pain Quotidien ( if you live in NYC, LA, or DC you must go!), said he "missed"` me because he hadn't seen me in a while. Note to self, keep tipping well.

After lunch with a friend, I was off to Marshalls to find birthday presents for nieces and nephews and friends Oh MY!

I knew it was going to be a good day. My sister in law Marie usually calls my cell when I'm in Marshalls, which I call "church". 'Where are you right now?" "Church" I say, and she knows where I am. She calls fabulous finds at Marshalls "Bingos". Well B-I-N-G-O!

Here is the dress I got for my niece Rose (SIL's daughter, she never is on the computer so I can blog about it!) isn't it precious? And matching doll dress!!!! Dying. I think I need to have a girl next time around.

She loves anything pink or princessy so she will die!

Got her brother Gabe something for his bday too.

He won't care but SIL will looooove it. Greatest prices ever.

Polo shirts for $16! Love it.

Everything in that store was Lilly P and Ralph. I saw Lilly P bedskirts, Duvets and sheets! Wish I had a place for them! Also saw a Lilly P shift dress, Kelly Green, size 2T! Adorable. Again, I need a GIRL.

Tuesday Morning is right near by so I did check it out to see if the Lilly P Entertaining books were there. No luck. I have them anyway, was just curious!

By the way, since I live in the celebrity filled La La Land...I've started a new category called: Celebrity Sightings. I swear they are everywhere so I thought it would be fun to tell you who I see day to day.

God Bless Marshalls!
