Peets Coffee Does Not Like Babies

I took Landon to Peets Coffee to get a gift card for a friend who helped me get my part time job. I have been meaning to get over there but of course could never find a moment. I finally decided to go there with Landon this morning:
BIG MISTAKE.

It started with me trying to get Landon to go inside. He let out a scream and the guy in front of me winced in pain like a dagger had been thrown at his head. (GIVE ME A BREAK DRAMA QUEEN, GET DOWN OFF THE CROSS SOMEONE ELSE NEEDS THE WOOD).

We made it inside and the line was back where Jesus left his sandals. I mean FAR BACK. I got on line and did what any normal mother would do. I bribed Landon with raisins. He sat in the middle of the floor shoving 200 of them in at a time. (Hey, it was quiet.) Then I saw the guy (drama queen) from before; leave before he got anything. WHATEVER.

I had a few nice girls on line who thought Landon was the cutest, because he is(most of the time). The looks I was getting from everyone in there were as if they had never seen a baby before and were downright horrified. Is this Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in the town with no children? "Lollipops! All free TO- DAY!"

Then Landon started having another little fit when I tried to stop him from shoving 300 raisins in his mouth (200 is my limit).

The counter dude was rude as hell trying to get my attention because I was next. He treated me like I was his stepmother. Give me a break. I am trying to do two things at once which you clearly have not mastered or you wouldn't be stuck behind the counter with that look on your face.

I got the gift card and left. Thank God I don't drink coffee. I was riled up enough as it is!

I'm sorry they were so rude! Do they not get that kids can be noisy!?

I can't stand people like that! Finn was crying once when we were taking the train home from NYC & you would have thought he was throwing feces the looks people gave me! Obviously, the whole situation is hardest on the KIDS not the adults who have to deal w/ a few minutes of noise.

Glad you got your coffee though:)

Or - actually your gift card. Guess I read that wrong!

I hate it when people act like babies and children should not be brought out in public. This happens to me when I baby-sit my sister's kids. Seriously - they need to get a grip.

That drives me CRAZY! I want to remind those kind of people that they were once a child too and I am sure they had a fit or two (obviously with the way they act towards a baby). I mean give a girl a break and help her out instead of acting like a fool. I am really sorry that happened to you. Unfortunately, it happens to me quite often.

They must have been Very quiet babies when they were little. Or maybe they were just born cranky quiet adults?

ARGH! I am sorry, nothing irritates me more. It is not like this is a fancy 5-star restaurant, this is a coffee place where families are SUPPOSED to be welcome.

Your post me me LAUGH OUT LOUD. I had a very similar experience yesterday when hubby and I decided to go out for lunch with the 2 kids. We picked a vegetarian restaurant in our town that USED to be kid-friendly but is no longer. Oops - we didn't know they changed their menu and their attitude. $7.95 for a side order of organic fresh-cut French fries. And the looks we got from the hippies at the next table, like how dare we take a child out to lunch! The horror - they couldn't eat their soy-based fake meat in peace.

I really hate when people act like that. Hey bitchy guy - if other people annoy you so much, then stay home! Don't get in line at a coffee place and then cop an attitude about the other people there. Uugh!

That is so annoying! I get those same feelings and looks when I take my friends 3 kids out. HELLO PEOPLE KIDS ARE ALLOWED TO BE IN PUBLIC PLACES!!!!!

Hopefully you won't have to go back to that coffe place anytime soon!

Why do some people act like it's their world and why are you in it? Why do they feel so entitled to quietness? If we can't have it, they need to deal with it, also. Sorry for your rough time. I'm sure Drama Queen survived the rest of the day.

People are thoughtless, I hope you do not have to go back to that shop, and Landon is precious, anyone who can't see it is blind!

I love your little unusual expressions I've never heard before! (heehee)

BabyGirl (23 months) is reeeeeallly starting to get into the terrible twos behavior. Taking her out shopping isn't as easy as it use to be. Temper tantrums are starting to emerge. Ugh. My first daughter didn't really do this so this is new to me.

people are so rude! I'm a raisin briber myself. It can really do the trick sometimes!

You know, every one of those people giving you the eye were once a child themselves. They need to lighten up! Don't let people's nasty behavior get to you!!!!

I had one of those "times" at TJ Maxx. The more agitated the lady in front of me became, the more I encouraged my princess to scream! Take that you @#$%&&!
