Dear Gap, I Love You-Fabulous Finds All Over!

I needed a new pair of jeans and although I love my Seven Jeans, I wanted to spend a little less money and maybe get a few other things. Let me just say I have not been to the Gap in a while, I've been cheating at Marshalls. Can't help it. Sometimes I get sick of digging and so last week I went to the Gap.
Just when I thought customer service was dead and that you have to be a size 4 to get any attention, the salespeople at the Gap came to my rescue. They treated me like a queen. Forget that, they treated me like a princess. No, wait they treated me like a celebrity. A celebrity who has a publicist who called ahead of time and threatened them that if they didn't kiss my ass they'd be fired and then killed. I was catered to, and spoiled and I loved it.
With all that attention, I knew I'd find a great pair of jeans, simply because they wouldn't give up on me!

I got these Double Button Curvy Boot cut jeans. They are the kind you wear with flats and are very trouserish which I LOVE.

Here is the back of them. Love these pockets!

Since I was on a roll, I got a great trench coat (every designer has this on a woman's basics fashion list), I got this one in red and it is fierce (to quote Christian from Project Runway.

I walked out of that store feeling great. I love you Gap. You sure know how to treat a girl...fabulous! PS Kikibee and Kenady work at the Gap and this makes me love them all the more!

Gap is even good for old ladies like me these days. Haven't shopped there in years, but looks like they are returning to their roots with classics and stocking clothes for people over 15 (unlike most stores!)

St. Simons is an island off the coast of Georgia. It's where John and Charles Wesley first landed as "missionaries to the Indians" and their church is still an active Episcopal parish (and there's a big Methodist retreat center there, too, Epworth by the Sea). Basically, it's like my town, only there's a beach. Lots of people from here have condos and beach houses there.

You are going to look so fierce, no ferosh, no fierce! :)

I SO agree, I haven't been to the GAP in years and I'm loving ALL THINGS GAP right now. I need those colored khakis in every color!

Enjoy!

I have those jeans and love them. What a great trench! I bet it's gorgeous in red!

MOTR mentioned St. Simons and Epworth by the sea. In high school, all of our show choir retreats were at Epworth. I miss GA so much...

You obviously shopped alone, w/o your son. Salespeople run from me when I'm with #2. Ha! Jeans are so hard for me to find. Right now mine all feel a little long for my flats. I need to try Gap, too. I go for the kids and forget about looking there for me.

Cute finds! I am glad they treated you like a celebrity! I am in desperate need of going shopping but it will be for maternity clothes instead of the fun stuff.

So funny you wrote a blog about what I've been thinking for the last week! We have a GAP outlet close to my house, and I decided I'd venture back in there last Friday night. I have been planning my outfit I'm wearing when I pick hubby up. I got the CUTEST little black dress at H&M, and have been dying to wear it! I got some hot pink patent leather peep-toe pumps, and have been thinking about what I'm going to wear to keep warm. We'll be standing out on the tarmac watching hubby and 3 other pilots do a formation fly-over, and the beginning of April in Washington is not as warm as I wish it would be. Anyway, I went into the GAP outlet looking for some type of sweater to wear over my little black dress, and found a hot pink twill trench coat that matches my pumps EXACTLY! It was fate. It was just screaming my name! There was one in my size, and I took it to the register to pay for it, and SURPRISE! It was 30% off! Talk about loving the GAP! It's been my most favorite store since I was 12, and I have to say, I don't think I'll ever fall out of love with it. So glad you had a super experience too!

Mrs., What can I say...you are such a wonderful woman, I am so glad that you were treated well, I want everyone to say that when they walk out of my store...and that you found stuff you loved...icing on the cake!!! Those Curvy Bootcut jeans makes the tushy look great, and they are super popular.

I wish I worked at a store near you so we could shop together all the time, my favorite thing is when the mommies come in and I alternate playing with their kids and helping them shop, it takes the pressure off them and they get to pick up some great things for themselves!!!

Glad you came back to the Gap and thanks for the plug, you are truly oneof the kindest people I have met while blogging!!!

Great finds! I had a similar experience at the Gap while shopping for jeans. The salesman would not give up until we found exactly the best ones. I left feeling like I wanted him to be my new best friend to go shopping with and style consultant!

I love that you love the Gap again!!! If you loved those curvy bootcuts you will love the curvy flares... they have cute sailorish pockets and a wider leg at the bottom. I'm gonna have to buy 2 more pairs just in case they never make them again!

Anyway... I wish you lived near my store so I could make you feel like a princess, or celebrity everyday!

Thanks for the plug! Go back soon! New stuff on arrives on Monday!
