Fabulous Project- Drapes for the Dining Room

Okay I am ready to get it together. We've lived in the house a year but I have been busy painting, fixing etc. I have just decided that instead of tackling all the rooms at once I need to do a room by room decorating make over. Join me won't you?! I'm starting in the dining room with drapes. The dining room is lemon yellow and living room next to it is lime green. What kind of drapes do you think would look best? Let me know! I have two windows to do and may carry it into the living room (pictured above)? I feel like this is such a commitment! Scary! I'm going to do it though!

What do you think?

Your dining room windows look similar to our living room windows. We did roman shades. I just had a color consultation today for our bedroom. I'll post about it soon.

It is such a pretty view. Because of their depth and size, I would definitely do side panels hanging on a rod just below the ceiling and oustide of the windows. That way you won't obstruct the great view and will make them seem taller by bringing the rod above the window.

To spice up the side panel I would mix two fabrics and add some great trim. One main fabric with 2nd at the top down about 2 ft and a great trim across the bottom of the 2nd fabric.

Clear as mud, right? I can see it now!

You don't have to matchy matchy with the LR and DR as long as the colors coordinate and flow. Good Luck and let me know if you need me to clarify!

Good advice!!! I guess I need to look at fabrics first? I may need more help after that!

I agree with 5 bickies. Don't cover it up. It's so beautiful. I can't wait to see your fabric choices. Why don't you get samples of the ones you like and let us see them all!!! I love spending other peoples money!! :)

My vote is for a nice pheasant and quail pattern in the dining room...

I love your windows and chandelier. Have fun. I love picking out fabrics-if you were only closer to the east coast!
