The Wrestler- A Mom Review!

I saw the Wrestler last night, it was one of the ones I was looking forward to seeing vs Revolutionary Road which everyone is telling me is sooooo depressing. Although the Wrestler is great, and Mickey Rourke absolutely should win an Oscar, holy moly it's sad. He plays a has been who's pretty hell bent on destruction and all alone in the world. He plays the character very well and you really feel for him.
Lots of seedy visits to strip clubs to see Marisa Tomei (hello her body is amazing), so lots of nudity and depressing people.

Again this movie is well done! You just have to be in the mood for it I guess. I am giving it:

3 out of 5 Cosmos...

Mickey Rourke's story in itself is pretty sad, uplifting, depressing, et al.

My hubby really wants to see this one, and I'm pretty interested, too. I remember Mickey in 9 1/2 Weeks....who knew all these years later he'd be washed up, hung up, and re-issued?

I thought Mickey was incredible. Just the physical abuse his body endured for this role is worthy of a gold statuette.

I left sobbing, but loved it!
