Veuve Cliquot Polo Match

The Mr and I decided to have a fabulous preppy date out to the Veuve Cliquot Polo match (before Landon's last surgery). It was a gorgeous day and people in Los Angeles really dressed the part! Had to snap a few pics of the whole scene.

Hubby and I had a fabulous time....

And seeing Nacho Figueroa, wasn't bad either!!!

We Zig When They ZAG- Valentines Date Night

Hubby and I hate the whole Valentines Day, price fix, crowded nightmare of February 14th. We avoid it at all costs because it makes us feel like hamsters on the Hallmark wheel of fake love. So instead we went out last night for Valentines day, so the night could be about us!
I had gotten us tickets six months ago for the greatest guy ever, GEORGE BENSON.

I love me some George, but he did a tribute to Nat King Cole and sounded exactly like him. It was amazing! The LA philharmonic even played behind him. Later he went on to "Masquerade", "Gimme the Night", and of course "On Broadway". The Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown LA (pictured above) is amazing. It is so worth paying to see something there. The acoustics are the best I have ever experienced and the design is mesmerizing. It looked like the inside of a ships hull.

Anyhoo, George had us up dancing and the whole place was boggeying down. Don't you just love that?

To top off the great night Hubby made "Daddy Pasta"( chicken and asparagus penne in a cream sauce) YUM and gave me this!

Remember how I wanted it as part of my Yellow for Spring look? Thanks Hubby!!!!

Fabulous Outing- Restaurants in Virginia and Maryland

My Dad and Step Mom are THE most gracious hosts. They have taken us out to dinner every night and provided a babysitter! We feel so spoiled and are loving every minute of it! Here are some of the places we've been.
The Old Angler

Located in Potomac, Maryland, The Old Angler Inn is not only a landmark, but a restaurant that has retained it's sense of class and style since it was opened in the 1800's. The fireplace, the old mahogany bar, and spiral staircase up to another dining room, all make it worth the trip and then some. The food was fabulous and the service superb! I recommend the crab cakes, after all when in Maryland....

Idylwood Grill and Wine Bar

Ask for Hedi, at this restaurant where magic happens every night. Their knowledge of wines, the menu (I had the salmon with pesto gnocci- delicious), and the atmosphere are too entertaining for words. Hedi will tell you about his homeland of Tunisia and I swear you'll book a trip!

Flemings

Forget that it's a chain, or at least you will once you walk in. The steaks are fantastic and dining here, whatever state your in, is a treat!

What a wonderful time we're having! Thanks Dad! And Happy Birthday!

Fabulous Weekend- Polo Match

Hubby and I took Landon to his first polo match this past weekend. At first I thought a baby at a polo match was sheer INSANITY, but instead it was wonderful. We met some friends there and had a lovely picnic. Landon ran all over the field above the polo field so we could watch and he could still play. What really made it feel more fabulous was a little planning. We had china, cloth napkins, silver, homemade chicken salad (hubby has been watching TOP CHEF) and wine and cheese. It was a great day. This was the second to last match of the season, but we have vowed to catch more matches next year!
