Haiku Tuesday

Godmother (Landon's) is coming to stay today and I could not be more thrilled. She will be flying with me to PALM BEACH for a much needed and anticipated girls weekend. It happened to fall on Mothers Day, so we are treating ourselves! More on that in another post....

I've decided it's Haiku Tuesday!

Haiku-poems can describe almost anything. Some of the most thrilling Haiku-poems describe daily situations in a way that gives the reader a brand new experience of a well-known situation.

The metrical pattern of Haiku

Haiku-poems consist of respectively 5, 7 and 5 syllables in three units.

Okay I will start us off. Are you getting worried I might tag you? Well be afraid! be very afraid!

Here's mine!

I open my eyes
He is up and calls "Daddy"
Scrambled shower starts

Tickling singing
Waffle Elmo Sesame
Smiling at my son

Nanny comes I start
Wondering all while moving
How sweet he can be

At the door hug kiss
Mommy leaves for work but still
Another world waits

I am tagging:
Kikibee, Chic Chauffeur, Etiquettely Correct, Keeks and Brie, Just Beachy, La Vie En Rose, and Mom x2, but anyone who wants to do it comment or let me know when it's on your blog! Cheers!

Those are great! I stink at writing poems, but I might give this a try when I'm bored!

Okay, that was fun. I gave it a try, and I think I am ready to start looking for a publisher for the first edition of a short collection of Haiku's and other meanderings. . . .:) Or maybe I'll just stick to blogging.

Great haiku! I promise I am going to the fridge tag one day! The flash is out on my camera and I am having it repaired. I will maybe borrow my mom's and take a pic. I loved that tag and really want to post about it! :)

whew... off the hook:)

Very nice haiku. It should be English lesson Tuesday. I remember many a lesson on poetry through my years of school. I am a free verse type of poet, although I haven't written any poetry since I was 19 and had my heart broken by some stupid boy (that always seemed the best time to write a poem). Anyhow, loved your post, as always.

Okay...I wrote my Haiku, not sure its as eloquent as yours but it definitely was relevant to my recent road trip. It was really fun and I am so thrilled that you tagged me, that you thought I could do this, it was a treat!!!

Finished my haikus:) (or is the plural still "haiku?")

By the way - love this week's "Mom tip." Another thing I do to get the kids to try new foods is put it out before the rest of the meal is ready & call it an appetizer! Now my daughter routinely wanders into the kitchen when I am making dinner & asks what we are having as an appetizer:)
