Flatware, Oh Flatware what should I choose?!

This whole flatware dilemma is bugging me. Currently I am using the blue flatware above. This is what my parents used with our Italian Blue Spode patter for everyday. Guess what? I have the Italian Blue as well. Why do we want to be our parents so badly? Because they did everything right!

Well now I am doing a whole different apple green thing in the kitchen so I am moving away from the blue slowly but surely. I need an everyday flatware! I cannot find one preppy and fun enough, well made and good enough. Any ideas? (Feel free to chime in Dad and Mom!!)

For our formal ware we use Towle old master, Royal Crown Derby in Old Avesbury and our semi casual flatware (for friends over) is our bamboo handled flatware.

I need help! Come on ladies. Don't let me down! What do you use?

xo The Mrs.

When I registered for everyday flatware 11 yrs ago what I really wanted was one that if necessary I could use with the formal China. I also wanted one which would not show finger prints. I also wanted a good piece that was weighty in my hands. I found it at Crate & Barrel. The pattern I had is now discontinued. I know that I could probably call their customer service and see about it but the Foster Flatware Set from crate & Barrel is one that is similar enough to the other pattern.

Neat post. I love the spode! I got my everyday flatware from Villeroy and Boch, and I love it (but I can't remember the pattern name). They have pretty frequent sales and a wide range of choices. Four years in, it wears very well.

My everyday flatware is Rushmore by Oneida - unfortunately it is discontinued. It is nice enough to use with my china too, which is good since we didn't get any of the formal flatware (Old Maryland Engraved by Kirk Steiff) we registered for as a wedding gift. Maybe one day..

Good luck finding something. Would love to see the apple green dinnerware. :)

You are asking the wrong person! I have no sense of style at all. But, I'd love to see what you chose!
