Daily Routine For Feeding Your Baby- 5 months already!!!

Believe me when I tell you, I feel like I forgot everything after having Landon. Coco is now 5 months and I am going to start feeding her solids this weekend!
I was trying to figure out a new schedule for her, including bottle and food. I found this at Babycenter.com.

Schedule 5: A formula-feeding stay-at-home mom of a 5-month-old

Editor's note: This schedule is a parent-led routine

6 a.m.: Baby wakes up and has an 8-ounce bottle.

6 to 7 a.m.: Playtime with Mommy.

7 a.m.: Cereal and pureed fruit (baby food).

8:30 to 10 a.m.: Naptime.

10 to 11 a.m.: Playtime.

11 a.m.: 6- to 8- ounce bottle and jar of fruit (baby food).

Noon to 2 or 3 p.m.: Naptime.

3 p.m.: 6- to 8-ounce bottle.

3 to 6 p.m.: Playtime.

6 to 6:30: We go for our evening walk.

6:30 p.m.: Cereal and veggies (baby food).

6:45 p.m.: Bath time.

7 p.m.: Prayers, 8-ounce bottle, brush his teeth.

7:15 p.m.: Bedtime — Baby sleeps until the next morning.

Looks Ideal to me! What's your routine? I'd love to know!

Sounds like a great schedule. I started Lulu off with solids at five months... twice a day, then three or four bottles. It took her awhile to drink 8 ounces though... she still won't take a full 8 of any liquid. Anyway, food was the major panacea for her colic. It was fabulous. Good luck!

That's quite a schedule!

I'm laughing at the baby sleeps from 715PM to 6AM. Not my babies!

Both mine breastfed at least once in the middle of the night.

During the day, I always nursed them first and did cereal or solids about an hour later.

I followed the baby whisperer routine and this is pretty similar. My daughter is now 11 mos and I cannot tell you how much following a routine has helped both of us.

Best of luck, let us know how it goes!

Well, how's the schedule of...

Try to remember to feed some cereal and a fruit before noon in between laundry, pre-school drop off, fighting tongue thrust and general spewing of anything inserted into infant's mouth.

Try to remember to get some rice cereal, (except switch to oatmeal because then she doesn't spit it out), with some veggie down her some time after Dad get's home for dinner. Even better if you can get him to do it.

Beach, errands, library story time, notice I make no mention of the gym here... and other various business throughout the day mostly so we are not home to make more messes that I never have time to clean up anymore, but somehow DID have time to when I was working full time???.

Don't even get me started on the "Baby sleeps until the morning" bit.

Come ON! I need help.

And anyway, my Dr. said every bit of nutrition they get from actual food up to age one is just for socialization. So I celebrate my small successes. And I'll panick after she survives her first birthday cake.

Good grief.

Schedule sounds great. I needed something like this because with each child it was like I had never done it before. So funny how our brain moves on!

I hope the food intro goes well this weekend!

I am the worst Grandmother ever-when we get to have my stepdaughters babies, they tell me their schedule etc... I really really try. But I just hold them the whole time & love on them. Which blows their whole schedule for napping etc... I'm bad!!

Thanks for posting the feeding schedule. We will probably be starting Big Ben on solids soon. I'm a little nervous about it but he just finished an 8-ounce bottle in 10 minutes. Yikes!
