Operation Hot Bod

Time to get serious people. Hubby and I both have permanently pregnant stomachs and we need to get in shape! Hello it's June and the summer is upon us!!!

So June 1st I started a lifestyle change (notice how I didn't saw diet? Because DIETS FAIL!) Here is my plan:

Eat healthy
Weigh in each week
Exercise three days a week (starting with walking then weights and running)
Drink only on weekends
Have healthy snacks
Have a protein shake in the AM
Find out my BMI (Body Mass index)

I have one of those Tanita $50 scales that makes the weigh in fun. It tells you your weight down to the tiniest amount and your fat percentage. That way I can see if there's any progress at all!

Here was our dinner menu this week:
Monday Night- Salmon, dill cous cous and broccoli
Tuesday night- Steaks and asparagus (fell off the wagon with my small group and had cheesecake, wine and crackers!)
Wednesday Night- Turkey Burgers and Fatoush Salad (fatoush salad is a wanna be skinny girls dream!)

Fatoush Salad:

Romaine hearts
Radish
Tomato
Cucumber
Mint
Parsley
Green onion
Toasted pita bread pieces
salt
pepper

dressing is lemon juice and olive oil!

Thursday Night: Pollo Asada, Black beans and rice and broccoli
Friday Night: WINE!
LOL.

Who's with me? Who's on operation HOT BOD!?

I have been trying to do the healthy thing ever since I went off of Coumadin (blood thinners). I have been off a bit so I do have to watch what I eat (usually though I watch it go in my mouth). I also try to get some good amount of exercise in at least 4-5 times a week. Not always easy. But I will try harder.
Thanks for the incentive.
I am sure that you'll be the best mom to those two little ones.

I'm in! My start day is the day after school lets out, June 13. I will be doing hard core gym along with healthy eating.

What I find works best is to be more specific about what 'healthy eating' means. Nothing with saturated fat? Nothing withh high fructose corn syrup? Nothing processed? All of the above? Makes it easier to accomplish the goal. Also shopping at 'fun, healthy' stores, like Whole Foods and Trader Joe's.

Sounds like you are off to a great start! I am trying to be good and make long term changes for life. I get frustrated when i don't see fast results but I need to realize it is a lifestyle long-term change! Good Luck!!!

Good luck! Cutting out those carbs is the key - which obv. you are. I need to exercise more intensely. After 40 is is so hard. of course, if eating and drinking we're my HOBBY, I'd be in a lot better shape. ha!

My goal was to be back in my pre-baby clothes by the dude's first bday. I've only got a month now and I totally fell off the wagon when I got sick a few weeks ago. Thanks for renewing my resolve! And you can do it!!

I will be right behind you after I have this baby. I saw Gwyneth Paltrow on Conan last night and it made me want to work out. Not that I would ever look like her (for one, she's about a foot taller!) but it gave me incentive to try to look as good as I can.

I'm with you in spirit!

I'm in for operation Hot Bod....and I got you lots of goodies today at the buy one get one free! Will mail in the morning. I did see on GMA that turkey burgers can have more calories and fat then lean sirloin burgers. I thought that was interesting! I was off the healthy wagon & working out this week thanks to Lilly. Does walking around shopping every day most of the day count as exercise? You go, girl!

My sis did the P90X workout for 3 months before her vacation getaway with her hubby. She absolutely had her before baby bod back! I will be starting that after seeing her pics in a bikini!

Somehow I don't think this is going to be as much fun as our trip to Greece!!!! Went to Better Homes & Garden site for their Eat & Stay Slim Diet and when I went to find out my BMI they referred me to my DR.!!! I'm still on track - (see my blog abt trying on a bathing suit) and my weigh-in is on Monday.

I'm loving the way I'm feeling about myself!

I have been trying to do the exercise 3 times a week thing too but, it is so hard with two now! I have to wear a TINY bridesmaid dress in Aug. So, I need to get motivated! Biut the wine only on weekends.....there is just too much stress in my life for that! Ha

Wow - sounds like a great pln and the 'healthy eating sounds delicious! Like you I don't beleive in diets - makes you too obessed, rather than listening to what your body wants. Best of Luck! Your new header photo is gorgeous by the way!

i'm with ya sister! it's funny how the summer brings it on... the healthy eating and exercising! i actually gave up soda! i was drinking 6-7 cherry coke zeros a day and no water or juice and then a couple of beers at night. not very healthy at all! now i drink 2 bottles of water, 2 life waters and an occasional beer after work (max 2). love your menu! may have to get some of those recipes:)

You know I'm there with you! This formerly Hot Bod ran on the treadmill AND swam laps this week. Now, if only I could stay away from the fatty treats. :)
