Lemons into Lemonade! Or Blessings in disguise...

My nanny gave her two weeks notice on Saturday...oh yes...I am giving birth (c section in about 10 days)...I FREAKED. I was angry and panicked. Her reason? She can't handle Landon let alone him and baby Coco. I had a new nanny lined up in less than 24 hours (yes I am type A thank GOD); I have been suspecting nanny couldn't handle the job for the last few months.

New nanny has way more energy and is sassy and already knows Landon. She has worked with twins and triplets so this should be cake! Landon is easy peasy, so she should be fine.

I was ready to burn old nanny at the stake until I talked to her when she showed up for work. She's tired. She's forgetting things. She feels like she can't handle the job and you know what? I appreciate her honesty. I don't want something to happen to Landon. I told her it was okay and we would work it out. Keeping it ending on an up note. She's been with us since Landon was 3 months and he is 2 1/2. She's been great and trustworthy and a blessing to us. I got over my anger and feel like this is all supposed to happen. A blessing in disguise. New nanny Lulu starts next week and I cannot wait. I have peace of mind.

I hate change but hating it is not going to stop it. Really this is what's best for everyone. I have decided to roll with it (easy to do at my size!!!)

On an even happier note we got into the preschool of our choice! Many of you know what a feat this is, but how could you NOT let Landon in? Come on!! LOL.

So glad it all worked out. I hate change too, but you are right. You cannot stop it even if you throw a fit. Sounds like your new nanny will be perfect.

It was probably hard for your nanny to make the decision to leave, but man, she picked a rotten time to tell you!

I am glad you were able to find a new one so easily! I imagine LA is like Atlanta in that there are a lot of women who nanny and there is a huge demand for them.

I hope she turns out to be wonderful and gets along well with your kids!

I'm glad it all worked out! You don't want a nanny who can't handle one kid when you're about to give birth to another! At least she was honest, and the new nanny sounds great!

Congrats on Landon getting into the preschool you wanted!

oh how i hated the nanny switching! but for me the one nanny that quit on me was a blessing because her replacement was with me for 4 years and we still talk and she still babysits on occasion. sounds like you found the perfect replacement!

So glad you were able to find a nanny so easily. They are had to come by here! I had to let our first one go after she locked The Princess in the house by herself, among many other things!!!
Your shower gifts are beautiful! I can't believe you only have 10 days left!!! Yeah!

I am glad you have someone else lined up. I was worried I would have to cut the semester short and come be your nanny ;)

It sounds like you have gotten everything taken care of! It is best that the old nanny was honest that she couldn't handle everything. Something bad could have happened! The new nanny sounds fun...her name is just great!

I'm going to go with "blessing in disguise" on this one! Glad that it's all working out.

I'm a true believer that everything happens in its own time, for a reason. I am sure LuLu will be a blessing to you and you to her. And only 10 days to go???....yikes! It seems like this pregnancy has just flown by!

I am glad everything is working out for you, especially with only 10 days until you deliver. You need to enjoy these last days of being just a mommy of one!

Good for you to roll with the nanny's departure like that! I guess it's better that she know herself and leave now rather than right AFTER Coco is born.

We are dealing with school changes too...Caroline's school is closing next year (it's an older Catholic school & was having financial difficulty). We have been interviewing schools but are still undecided...Not Fun!

Glad everything has worked out for the best and before Coco arrives!
